Hi!

I am so excited about today because I am driving to Atlanta to see Sara who I have become friends with through blogging! I am super giddy and so happy to get to go to ATL (which I love) and to meet this awesome girl!

So for this Thursday I wanted to share some pictures from the day Stu got back from Iraq. I cannot even tell you how many emotions were going through my head and I don’t think my heart has ever beaten so fast in my life. If you are married/dating or have a family member in the military than you know it can be very tough. It’s the worst feeling going to bed every night not knowing what they are doing or if they are safe. Knowing that you might never see them again is an unreal feeling.

The day Stu left. Notice my red crying eyes..

I will never forget the way my heart felt like it was beating out of my chest standing at the base waiting for them to walk through the gate. Hearing the motorcycles from a mile away that escorted their bus in. The most intense moment of my life. And the worst part was once they walked in- they had to stay in formation while a speech was given. Really!?? All I wanted was to find Stu and run over and hug him- NOT listen to a speech!

Finally they were released and I remember pushing through the crowd until I found him. Best moment ever.

I didn’t want to let go. I didn’t even want to let him go to get his bags.

I feel for every military wife/fiance/girlfriend going through a deployment right now.  <3

If you have a military significant other have you gone through a deployment? Is the homecoming not INTENSE!?
